The Dream has died for United Kingdom.

3 Jan

I just took a call from a friend of mine in Accra, Ghana, who told me she had a phone call from her brother in the UK who has been working here for the past five years and is now thinking of going back to Ghana.

He said things were so bad here that he wanted to return and start some kind of business down there. Janet was asking me if this report was factual and was surprised when I told her of the general state of things here. She could just not relate to a country like this being in the sort of depressed state that she relates to countries in her part of West Africa.

The dream these people have is no more. We are lucky to have enjoyed the best of it. It will be years before that feeling of security and easy money returns to general business.
